Re: Complete Collections

Besides having all 38 Dandy comics and annual released in 1949, I'm 3 comics away from having all 26 from 1946. I'm 3 issues from completing the 1948 run, and 8 comics away from completing the Beano run of 29 comics from 1949. 8)

Sid Burgon "Ivor Lott and Tony Broke" Buster Comic Art

Just sourced my first page (s) 20 & 21 of Buster, "Ivor Lott and Tony Broke", comic art signed by the artist, Sid Burgon. I'm yet to source the comic featured, but here's a stock example, Buster issue, 6th June, 1987. :)

Re: Classic TV Collectables

Just added to my collection a very nice vintage quad poster from the classic 1964 film, "The Bargee", starring the late great Harry H. Corbett, Ronnie Barker, and a who's who cast of comedy greats. Been after this for a while. :)

Re: Artist identification: Can you help???

Not at all :D Most of those artists seem to having made images for more than one IPC/Fleetway's comic series.

For example, it was Mike Western (rather than John Gillatt) who's made most of 'Billy's Boots' artwork during the years 1988 and 1989 for 'Roy of the Rovers' weekly magazine. :wink ...

Re: Artist identification: Can you help???

can we have a bigger / better scan of 'Magic Man' please? I don't think that Gillatt has drawn the episode highlighted

No, no, artist of 'Magic Man' isn't Gillatt for sure :D

He is either Argentinian Ramiro Bujeiro or Italian Mario Capaldi , both of them having contributed in IPC/Fleetway ...

Potts' luck & Family Fortune is by Sandy James

Yes, correct Richard S. Cartoonist Sandy James did indeed do the Family Fortune strip too, but much later when it was imported from the Hot-Shot comic (first published 1986) after it merged with the Roy of the Rovers in 1989. So yes, he could ...

Thanks for the link Richard S. I didn't know Lew Stringer did a Prisoner parody? Very cool. Wonder if he's still got any art from any issue done? I'll have to ask him. :)
