Re: Snail-Man Marvel UK Spider-Man Comic Art

Also, as a side note, Star Wars Weekly ended in the same Zoids comic as after being retitled, made monthly, re-numbered and almost ending on it's own...BLOODY MARVEL UK had to say that Return of The Jedi weekly continues in the Spiderman and Zoids comic when in reality they published one story from ...

Re: Snail-Man Marvel UK Spider-Man Comic Art

Just bought my first page of signed (2x) Lew Stringer "Snail-Man" art that appeared the Marvel UK Spide-Man comic No.648 1985. It measures around 310mm x 232mm , so around A4 in size. Hilarious. :D https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NbDoiUj-MSZMUXLl4HzUpcldUoY8tWkdrdWpctrdQtTOCDTq2J8Y69Xh...

Re: Your Favourite No.1s

For me, 2000AD No.1 was just about perfect. However my favourite was my introduction to Marvel with Avengers No.1. I read it again and again until the cover came off - and the next issue was even better. The interior, yes. But terrible front cover and boring free gift. Issues 2 and 3 were much bett...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

 Trust me, there is method in my madness jim244. It's only recently I've been taking pictures of my comics sourced as reference. Saves pulling them out. In fact, I have hundreds more not photographed yet to be checked. And to my knowledge seeing in 1949 40 issues were printed have only 11 iss...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

 Yes, I could have less that that jim244. I'm only going by the pictures that I've taken and not all the 1949 comics that I own. :) PS. Secured another tonight. No.402. :) 1:Congrats on another issue 2: What you say makes zero sense lol, you must know how many issues you need ??? :o Trust me,...

So....The very last Six Million Dollar Man story: Captain Ransbachers' flying circus and aerial museum is a cover to cripple the United States by dropping a bomb on the White House. It's a cla...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

A nice haul of Buster comics bought there stevezodiac. Seen some excellent early 60s & mid 70s issues on ebay. Reasonably priced too. Been doing some shopping myself as you can see. Got another four more Dandy's from 1949 yet to be delivered needed to complete the whole year. My goal is my nearing ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Went to Argos Old Kent Road yesterday and picked up a click and collect parcel of 40 mid 70s Busters plus the 1974 Summer Special. Although I've stopped collecting I bought them off ebay just because I'm very fond of the title and there's lots of Baxendale in them. Despite it being my 4th visit to ...

Re: Doctor Who on U&Eden channel

Must admit, watching these Pertwee Doctor Whos, every story features The Master. Couldn't stand him first time round. Same goes for Davros. There was a bloke on Radio 5 live this week talking about Doctor Who. He said the Daleks were their own masters until Davros came along at which point they bec...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

It wasn't shown in the UK during its original transmission, same goes for Black Saddle which TPTV also shows. Talking Pictures have acquired the rights to a lot of Four Star produced shows. You should check out Wanted Dead or Alive on Great Action. Steve McQueen western series where he uses his fam...

Re: Not just any old East London pie and mash shop

I was in Lewisham yesterday and poked my head into Something Fishy to check their price list. Pie, mash and liquor £8.50. Astonishing. About £3 more than other pie houses. The liquor itself was £2. Mate, living in Kingston I can't even get fish 'n' chips for that so sounds like a bargain. And curry...
