Re: WHEEL IN SPACE

I recently got (Xmas present!) The Essential Terrance Dicks Vol 1 and this includes the same novel but unedited (as the Dr Who Mag version was edited to correct faults in the original edition).

STORY 50: DR Who in WHO'S WHO ?
DOCTOR WHO HOLIDAY SPECIAL 1974
WRITER: UNKNOWN
ARTIST: UNKNOWN
DATE: MAY 1974

Easily the best of the strips in this excellent magazine (only the third actual Dr Who magazine) although it does also feature a reprint of a brilliant TV21 Daleks strip.

Re: Talking Pictures TV

Great choices Sir, I love all of them and especially am a huge fan of "Once Upon", another classic from the chap that brought us the Dollars films.
Never seen "Open Range".

Re: Boys Adventure Comic blog

Anybody here know where 'Nicodemus the wizard' was first printed? The original art was up for sale recently, looks like a '70s annual strip to me but would love to know more!

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Thanks jim244. I agree. Love in particular the Jonah Beano 1962 cover. :)

It's a great cover, agreed.
However I love the comic strip on the cover features of the Dandy book.
Pretty original really, most annuals do not have complete comic strips on the front.
Great stuff !!!!!

Thanks ...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

No, it is all great education Sir !!!
I would also rate that movie in my top twenty of all time and the trilogy itself is absolutely brilliant.
What are your top 10 Westerns?
Personally my favourite Western is "High Noon" with Gary Cooper.

As promised. Here's some new annual additions to my growing collection. Featured are two Beano annuals from 1960 & 62, three Dandy annuals 1959 ,60, 65 and the last Black Bob annual from 1965. All in excellent order too, I might add. :)

Re: Doctor Who on U&Eden channel

Years ago Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais the writers of Porridge and the Likely Lads, were on Radio 5 Live and I sent a text saying that whereas their two shows and other UK sitcoms were written by one or two people and were like fly on the wall films with natural dialogue, US sitcoms were ...

Re: Doctor Who on U&Eden channel

TLC comes to freeview next Tuesday, they're showing about 12 hours of The Big Bang Theory non stop. I'm not a fan of modern US comedy.

I loved Becker with Ted Danson and Dax (#1) from DS9.

OMG I only recently watched "Deep Space 9" and I knew she looked familiar !!!
Thank you !!!

Yes I saw adverts for it tonight.
I don't mind the "Big Bang Theory" but agree with you that most US modern comedy is not wonderful.
I did love "Cheers" back in the 80s.

Re: Talking Pictures TV

No, I only have freeview, or 'Council tv' as my mate Wayne calls it. I was watching Star Trek TNG last week and a dig found some 19th century relics, Data picked up a Colt Revolver and referred to it as an 1873 Colt Double Action Revolver. I immediately shouted at the TV "rubbish it's a Colt ...
