Re: A new British adventure weekly.... Could it ever happen?

I got my nephew a trial subscription to The Phoenix at Christmas. He liked it, and now has a full subscription.

Re: Forum Access Poll

I vote for open access. (I'm afraid I don't understand all that technical stuff)

Re: STRIP Rant

I'm close to giving up on Strip. It will not survive these problems, and I'm not investing any of my money in a doomed venture unless I find it in WH Smith tomorrow.

Sorry. I wanted it to do well.

I was quite happy with the format of Commando.

Re: STRIP Rant

John Freeman was very helpful to me when I had a problem with a book ordered from Bosnia. I expect the Strip problems are beyond his control.

It doesn't look very hopeful for Strip though, unfortunately.

Re: Prog 1830 - Retro Cover

It's a brilliant cover. I spotted it easily while engaged on a doomed search for Strip Magazine. I bought 2000AD instead, plus a Commando.

Re: Tommorrows launch of new magazine

I went back to my newsagent this morning. They had reordered, and had two
copies on the shelf. I bought one and moved the other to a more prominent position.

Re: Tommorrows launch of new magazine

I went into my local newsagent. The lady said they'd had it - 3 copies - but all had sold.
She said she'd see if she can get me a copy, and I'll report back on what happens.

Re: Issue 1

No sign of it in the small Nottingham Waitrose. In fact, very few magazines/newspapers were stocked there.

Re: Are British comic shops failing British comics?

I've asked about getting Commando into local comic shops. They just weren't interested, and said they couldn't get it.

Re: Strip Magazine on eBay

I can't see why people can't make a few pence on their copies. It's hardly worth the effort, but perhaps they bought several copies of the magazine to support it. I certainly did - I have three copies.
