We here in Scotland have been here before. The Scottish equivalent to Smiths was John Menzies. In 1988 they decided to concentrate on distribution and sold their many retail outlets to W H Smith. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menzies_Aviation

I looked it up, and Last Of The Summer Wine is the world's longest running television SITCOM. The 27th October episode of Footage Detectives had an item on Harold Hare's Own Paper, and some storyboards for the film Zulu, which isn't comics but Zulu does seem to be of interest to many here.

A film to watch out for on TPTV is Penny And The Pownall Case. It's based around a comic strip, obviously inspired by Jane and drawn by George Davies https://www.lambiek.net/artists/d/davies_george.htm It's about the glamorous model for a comic strip who helps the police.
