Those wanting to know who wrote and drew the Charlton stories can see the credits for the magazine at https://www.comics.org/series/2209/ and for the comic book at https://www.comics.org/series/2208/. You need to click on each issue number to get that issue's credits.

I loved Elongated Man.
My favourite Infantino work was on Detective Chimp, back in the fifties, which I saw some of reprinted in British Superboy annuals. There's a collection due in November.

Re: Alan Class covers

I read this lovely story about Alan Class a few years back.I'm not sure where I read it or would provide a link. Basically Alan and his wife were walking down a street when Alan saw a comic book shop. They both went in. Alan asked the chap whether "Alan Class Comics" were something ever asked for,e...

Re: Alan Class covers

There was a period when Charlton covers often had cover blurbs for competitions, blurbs which weren't there on overseas reprints, so showing more of the cover image. For example https://www.comics.org/issue/172176/ and https://www.comics.org/issue/333007/#1478390

It might have been Portman, a British publisher who had a go at reprinting black and white American horror comics. https://www.comics.org/publisher/4591/ Instead it might have been American publisher Eerie, who published black and white horror comics with very lurid covers. https://www.comics.org/pu...

Re: Which British comic series have been adapted for TV or film and which British TV series have been adapted into comic

Apologies if I am off subject a little- but there was once an attempt to get the TV series "The Prisoner" as a comic series in the USA. It was Marvel's top artist, Jack Kirby who attempted this and test drawings were done (I have seen some) Sadly, because they could not get the characterisation of ...

A small section about comics on the Footage Detectives just now on Talking Pictures TV. It's normally repeated early in the week but isn't this week but there is an older repeat Thursday morning so this one will be repeated sooner or later. You can see it, the 9th October episode, online at https:/...

Re: Comics on TV

The latest episode of Salvage Hunters, season 16 episode 13, starts with printing plates for two issues of Creepy Worlds. If you read this before 10.00pm on Wednesday 12th October you can see it on Quest+, and I'm sure it'll be repeated a few times over the next week.

Re: Told in Pictures - Dudley D Watkins

As I remember it these adaptations were first serialised in The Peoples Journal. They were reprinted in colour in The Topper, then four of them were reformatted as hardback books.

Adaptations of King Solomon's Mines, Alan Quartermain, and The Three Musketeers weren't given the book treatment.
