Re: Talking Pictures TV
The 27th October episode of Footage Detectives had an item on Harold Hare's Own Paper, and some storyboards for the film Zulu, which isn't comics but Zulu does seem to be of interest to many here.

Re: The Last Great British Comic
Everybody seems to be thinking of old-fashioned weekly anthology comics, like the ones we read when we were young. By that measure we're down to The Phoenix, 2000AD, The Beano, and possibly The Megazine and Commando. However, if one looks at the broad field of comics Britain continues to produce gre...

A film to watch out for on TPTV is Penny And The Pownall Case. It's based around a comic strip, obviously inspired by Jane and drawn by George Davies https://www.lambiek.net/artists/d/davies_george.htm It's about the glamorous model for a comic strip who helps the police. Not a great film, but worth...

Re: Science fiction comedy strip in Hotspur
Thanks anyway, but you're wrong. I tracked down the strip, which was called The Wonderful Worlds Of The Woz. It ran in issues 492 to 501, March to May 1969. I have managed to reread it, and was just ss surreal and funny as I remembered.

I read this lovely story about Alan Class a few years back.I'm not sure where I read it or would provide a link. Basically Alan and his wife were walking down a street when Alan saw a comic book shop. They both went in. Alan asked the chap whether "Alan Class Comics" were something ever asked for,e...

Re: Alan Class covers
There was a period when Charlton covers often had cover blurbs for competitions, blurbs which weren't there on overseas reprints, so showing more of the cover image. For example https://www.comics.org/issue/172176/ and https://www.comics.org/issue/333007/#1478390
