Help needed locating a Calamity James strip!
Hello Beano comic hive mind! I've been trying to find the original comic that this Calamity James page of artwork appeared in, but, ironically enough, with no luck. There are no clues on the art, but I'm sure I've seen it before, and I'm sure it was in an annual. If anyone fancies a look and thinks ...
Re: Viz Tat
Yeah, Steve is right, it was from then sometime. Probably. The mug was only available if you sent in eight stamps. It is possibly quite rare, as it was the first time Viz did this, and I don't remember any spare cups knocking about the office, unlike most of the other cups which littered the office ...
Re: Viz Tat
There was a range of tat you could actually buy. I got a Elvis Presley Dambusters Clock Plate. As you would imagine, it didn't work for very long. The Hitler Doll sat on top of the Viz fruit machine in the office for a number of years during my time there (about eight years ago or something). Not su...

Re: 30th Anniversary Exhibition
I only just found out that Todays Guardian featured some exclusive Viz comics and an article on the anniversary. Anyway the comics are good fun, we got a BIFFA BACON, MRS BRADY and a GILBERT RATCHET (The best in my opinion) sorry to post the information late, only just found out about it myself, I'...

Re: 30th Anniversary Exhibition
I was at the launch, me. It was ace (Sorry to have missed you Lew). The exhibition is great, if anybody gets the chance to go, do. The best Viz exhibition yet, I think, real artwork fans. Great space too, and lovely people working there.

Re: The Viz Parodies
Simon Thorp does all the paintings. I self censored the word ***t (didnt do it there no doubt the f***ing censoring filter thing will do it) Heres a quick run through, you should recognise the artists style by comparing it to their other characters. Sometime other artists may do them but its unlike...

Re: Comics that make you laugh
I loved reading comics as a kid, and enjoyed them loads - but I can't remember ever laughing at them, either inwardly or LOL-wise...
I remember finding the short lived 'Acne' very funny, though. Probably because I was too young for it.

Re: Euan Kerr Leaves Thomsons
The title of this thread has now become incredibly misleading. Surely 'Discussion leaves Topic' would be more appropriate. I think Euan did a great job, I met him a couple of times, (including once in a lift in London. We were going up, if memory serves me correctly) and he was a lovely fellow. His ...

You mean Alex Collier! Hes been helping me with the format and how to colour to Viz standards as hes on the same course as me at Uni. I found Alex Patterson though he does Rex for Toxic I think, or did. LOL! Sorry Steve. You're right. Of course I mean Alex Collier. What a pillock. (Er, me, not him!...
