Don't try to identify this one — it's not been printed yet. But it does show that José Maria Jorge is still at the top of his game despite the years that have passed since he Illustrated "Family Of Heroes."

Re: Commando art
More evidence has just reached my office. Cameras are everywhere these days, don't you think, Commando CO? And so efficient. 3.35 : The Ben and Butt Hostelry  4.40 : Greeting a policeman and explaining wobbly walk  5.05 : At a local bus stop :snoring: :shhh: Glad to hear that our camo...

ARRRGH! I'M HIT. SCOTT, BURN THE COVERS BEFORE THEY GET HERE! Quick answers to some of the questions. We have everything stored Indiana Jones style, even down to wrapping everything in brown paper. Original artwork is used for reprints. Current original artwork is stored as well because the electron...

Re: Postal strike no-show.
I got the latest Commandos this week but it is 4235-4238 I didn't receive. Never mind, no-one died. Hi Steve, I'm pretty sure somebody died, we always have fatalities on Commando. If you haven't told the subs department, e-mail me your details at editor@commandomag.com and I'll have some replacemen...

Re: Postal strike no-show.
Hi Steve, Not sure which issues you're missing. If It's 4235 - 4238, they've got lost. Contact our subs people (or me through editor@commandomag.com) and they'll sort it. If, however, it's 4239 - 4242, they aren't officially out until this Thursday and someone has jumped the gun. Your copies of that...

Re: Identify the Commando issue?
Not sure what the story is, but it will have been one that was under construction when you wrote. In those days there was no "naked" artwork in the office for any length of time as it was ballooned (straight on to the artwork) pretty much as soon as it arrived from Argentina or wherever. This also m...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
Ah, the internal market! I could give you the details but then I'd have to... Well, you know the end of that quote. Was the article called "The Secret World of the Comic Kings" or something like that? I remember reading it in the dim and distant but I'm pretty sure it was before my time. I'm sure we...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
You have a point, Phil, but what you're talking about is not Commando and not an ongoing project. It's a VIctor/Warlord review looking back so it would only test the market for that sort of product. It would be the right format but not the right content for Commando. If Braddock was handed to me to ...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
So many questions, so little time... Advertising first. Commando used to be advertised in ALL Thomsons' newspapers plus the comics (Beano, Dandy, etc) and the boys' papers (Victor, Warlord et al) but for some reason that fell by the wayside. However, avid reader of the Weekly News Mr Zodiac will be ...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
Can I ask the Ed, has he considered doing a couple of colour specials a year? I.E Commando Summer Special in a bigger format.. This would surely expand the Commando universe without touching the original, I for one would love this a few times a year....also why are some of Thompsons classic strips ...

Re: Commando article in latest Weekly News (again!)
The article, written by Commando Chief Sub-Editor Scott Montgomery, is a little rundown of what we're doing in June. Bearing in mind that D-Day was a pivotal moment in world history, we reckoned we should have a salute to the folks who gave so much, especially as they say it will be the last big cel...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
Hi Steve, Yes, it works with the Dandy and Beano Fun-Size. And indeed it worked with Warlord. But that was not the full palette of colours an I for one would not like to see a Commando story in black and a single, or two, other colours. Maybe I'm just too demanding, but there you are... When the Vic...

Re: 1964 reprint this month.
I wonder why Commando has never added colour like the Fun-Size Beano and Dandy did when they replaced the Comic Libraries - and even they had black and red. I'll try to give you an answer to this, Digifiend. But first I'd better say that I'm not the only Commando editor who thinks colour would be a...

Re: Affording to buy Commando
We know that buying every Commando as it comes out can stretch the wallet a bit and we do what we can to ease the burden. Our quarterly direct debit sub is already below the counter price and our subscriptions people are finalising another deal to drive it even lower. There should be an announcement...

Re: Information about J.M. Jorge
Pog is right that our friend's full name is José Maria Jorge. His first book was No 384 Flying Fury, written by Ken Gentry and with a cover by Sanfeliz, and his published total is indeed 160 new stories. I think it's 63 re-issues to date, though I could be wrong. What I do know is that I've got sto...
