Still no Buster at Nottingham or Arnold stores, but the Misty's are gone now.
The comics at the Arnold branch are split over three sections, one is 5 feet high, and I can't see how children can get at these. Even if they could, the comics are a complete jumble.

Re: Buster Special 2009
No sign of Buster today in Nottingham. There was a large pile of Misty though, and I bought one to put it out of its misery. (I was rather surpised to find it quite good!)

Re: Affording to buy Commando
I agree. I love Commando, but eight a month is a lot both to pay for - and to read.
I wish they'd bring in a 'half subscription' where you could opt for four a month. You'd have to take your chance with the ones you got, but two new and two reprint would seem fair.

Re: Roy of the Rovers, Battle, Misty and Buster back on shelves
The stack of RotR in my local WH Smith (in Arnold) diminished over the last couple of weeks, and has now reappeared in a much better position, with more copies than ever. WH Smith must have ordered some extra copies here I reckon.

Re: Roy of the Rovers, Battle, Misty and Buster back on shelves
I found Roy of the overs in my local WHSmith, but it wasn't easy.
It wasn't in the comics section, it wasn't in the sports section. But i came across it in a small separate comics section, stuck in the far corner where no one would normally look.

Save the DFC
There is a gallant attempt to save The DFC via a subscriber buyout.

I decided not to renew my Commando subscription a couple of months ago, but am really missing it now. I hope to renew in January. Life isn't the same without it!

Re: What if Victor hadn't folded...
It is quite frustrating that you cannot go into a comic shop, and buy Commando for example. This used to be available in every newsagent, now you rarely see it. I'm faced with subscribing and getting 8 issues per month (which is rather too many) or finding random issues in WH Smith if i'm lucky. If ...

Re: Has Desperate Dan ever showed an interest in women?
I vaguely remember him living with an old woman - perhaps his mother. And he might have had a sister who looked very like him. That's the only female interest I can remember him having.
