Re: Crikey! is back
I thought it was great too. Entertaining fanzine, rather than the chin-stroking lists of artists I steer clear from. I much prefer enthusiasm and enjoyment of Crikey and Past Perfect to history books.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
A job came up that made me closely consider moving back to Cornwall. I declined but only just. Looking forward to a holiday instead. If you do decide to have that holiday in the Hayle/Lelant area, do feel free to PM me. It would be enjoyable to meet up. The evening in the Copperhouse, the drinks wi...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I was the manager of Lothian Hammers (team colours? Claret and blue) Just a guess mind, but I'm pretty certain that they weren't based anywhere near Burnley. Given the name Lothian, would I be right in assuming that there is a Scottish connection in your family, or is Lothian simply a place n...

Re: Valiant in 1964
Can't say I'm a fan of the Crows but Valiant really moved comics along. It did for the 60s what 2000AD did for the 70s.

Re: Rebellion Purchase Comic Cuts & Look In
I believe TV reprints are dependent upon the TV copyright holder and that's very difficult with Sapphire and Steel especially, due to confusion over who holds these

Re: Rebellion Purchase Comic Cuts & Look In
Rebellion only had Fleetway (Egmont)'s Valiant characters created after a certain year (1972 IIRC)

Re: Commando Collectors Swapmeet/Fair
I was going to go but have been ill recently (just a cold), so I'll have to give it a miss. Sorry about that. I'll also have to miss A Certain Ratio too, as they play Edinburgh that night.

Surely that answer is obvious? It's not a charity or a non-profit company.karl wrote:This could have been so much better. Why ape american comics when the characters came from uk comics.
Annoying that the writers felt they had to ape a different format.

Re: Game: Name Your Equivalent
Comic: 2000AD . Equivalent: Warrior . To me, Warrior was like an older version of 2000AD before it matured. Any of the strips could easily exist in 2000AD today. I might actually go for Star*Lord and Warrior. Had Fleetway held it's nerve and continued with it's monthly schedule, I think we would ha...
