anyone have this beano issue?

I think the issue you want has POP IDIOTS, a 10 pager by Mike Pearse in. In which case, you're right, track it down. Any Mike Pearse long strip is gold dust. If only someone would collect them in a book. I have a few of his, but I'm missing many more. The earliest I have is the Millennium Dome Treas...

Re: Rare Viz Annual

I'm in The Big Pink Stiff One, and I'm always coming across copies. (Fnaar fnaar) Thanks for the information, Kev. What story is it you do/did in Viz? Was it Finbarr Saunders? I did Tarquin Hoylet, He Has To Go To The Toilet. Not a long-lived strip. At the same time I started appearing in Oink, whi...

Do you think D.C Thomson should buy Fleetways characters....

Good question. You know that an American publisher (Todd MacFarlane and some others, can't remember who) have bought IPC's action characters and published a new comic called Albion featuring them? It featured Grimly Fiendish alongside Janus Stark, Robot Archie, The Steel Claw, The Spider and others....

Is this a joke category?

I like to flatter myself that I know a bit about comics, but Zip comic which was some kind of obscure spin-off from Mickey Mouse, is that for real?

Or is it all we could find for Z.

What about Zig & Zag's Zogazine? That kept me in work for a few months back in 2004. Memories.

Did you read comics before 1937?

Did you read comics before 1937?

That's lovely.

Shouldn't you be dead by now?

Is anyone still reading 2000AD?

Is anyone still reading 2000AD? I ask because, visiting schools, colleges, libraries and art centres the length and breadth of the country doing my Comic Art Masterclasses (see website), I've not found a single person who does. Honestly, not a one. The Beano is ubiquitous, The Dandy's popular especi...

Beano is missing some great artists...

People die, it can hardly be helped. For me Gary Northfield's Derek The Sheep and, before him, Mike Pearse's Bash St Kids long stories were the best thing to appear in the comic for 20 years. And have you seen My Own Genie in The Dandy? This is brilliant stuff, it's what kids should be getting excit...

Rare Viz Annual

Nope. Viz annuals, like most recent Brit annuals, are ten a penny. Even the early ones, before it was a million seller, can be found in second hand bookshops and Book Barns aplenty, and in Oxfam for 50p.

Steve Bright to draw Beryl in Davy Law style?

Like the old-style new Beryl (though I loved Karl Dixon's revamp too).

Best thing about this return is the script, nice timing, genuine funnies. Who's writing it?

PS: Did I mention I popped into The Beano and Dandy offices on Tuesday? Yes, be jealous. (I was passing).
