It's not in 79-81 or 83-85 or 87. Sounds more like a strip maybe Battle would have.

The first strip was in the Triumph but both the Champion and Gem preceeded that but only with an advert for Superman appearing in Triumph. These were scanned in an old ComicsUK post:

Someone got the first appearance of Superman in a British comic (advertisement that is) for £2.50 with postage included. The seller has no idea what he's just sold!

I mentioned that to one of the editors at the time when I was looking to publish a Billy the Cat collection. DCT weren't interested then but maybe this has changed?

Commandos (1000 mark) and various Battle etc Picture Libraries in BHF Dunfermline. There's also some 70s Marvel UK and 70s/80s Beano/Dandy too.

Got a couple of Dr Who and a Planet of the Apes (Brown & Watson) annuals. A deep sense of nostalgia, as they were bought for me as Xmas presents previously.

For me: Star*Lord: the first 12 are simply unbeatable. the whole run had its moments but it certainly declined in the second half. Captain Britain weekly: around the first 20 issues.
