fine work lew...i'm setting the hard disk recorder already!

anybody know what happened to mike dorey? i always loved his art on hellman, ro-busters, invasion, mach zero etc... just wondered what later work he did, if he's still alive and all that.

just when i decided to tidy the storage boxes in the loft, my mum and dad decided to empty out the spare room at their house which had all my stuff and both my brothers' stuff stacked away. a big "hello there" to about 300 forgotten comics, including 2000ad annuals and specials, my 'missing' starlor...

not heard anything from the bbc guy who was doing them...shelved?

i looked at the art bwfore reading the posts, and i thought it was fa philpott. then i saw his name as i read the rest of the thread. this is fa philpott, or frederick alan philpott. no doubts, i recognise the style against other credited works.

anything by kyle baker... i die at midnight, why i hate saturn, king david. brilliant stuff. mike carey's stuff is usually good too. my faith in frankie is fantastic. i don't really count collected editions of serial comics as graphic novels, because they aren't really. otherwise you could have load...

as a five-year-old, i loved tv comic. it was probably one of my earliest semi-regular reads. mostly for doctor who i recall.

maybe the art was bad, i can't remember, but i loved reading it all the same.

my wife works at smiths' head office. they don't touch much with a barge pole these days, margins are too narrow. if dvds and cds sell at a loss, what hope for comics?

a shame, a new cover would've been cool. never mind, still looking forward to seeing it back in print.

never gave up...i've been this sad since about 1974. shiver and shake, buster, etc as a youth, then action, battle action, 2000AD and onwards to DC comics, vertigo and blah blah blah.

relentless comic buying for over 30 years and never even htought about stopping.
