Re: Bumper book of Battle
I submitted this to Titan a couple of months back, scanned at 1200dpi then reduced to 600dpi to tighten up the linework (to answer a far earlier post). Still no release date, there have been some staff changes at Titan, with a new supervising editor coming on board. I've also done the first Rat Pack...

Re: Bumper book of Battle
ah,
the current RotR from Titan is a collection of strips from the annuals published between 1955 and the end of the '70s.

Re: Bumper book of Battle
have been talking with david leach, who edits collections at titan, at length for the last few days about battle, RotR and other titles due soon. RotR is done, and includes strips from the '50s to the '70s, and there's a copy in the post (apparently!). best of battle has been resolicited, and amazon...

Re: Is anyone still reading 2000AD?
yeah...i've been sticking with it in case anything good comes up for quite a few years now. i think the only 'new' thing i've enjoyed in ages is defoe (getting 666 into it yet again) although the second run of that was less enjoyable than the first. i went away from the meg when alan barnes stopped ...

Re: Is anyone still reading 2000AD?
sad to report that i made prog 1600 my last. i've bought it religiously since programme 1, but i simply can't justify spending the money on it anymore. apart from the odd decent strip, and maybe a lucky week where there's a john wagner dredd story, the decline in quality of content has finally tippe...

Re: Question about "Charley´s War" paperback issues
Sorry Cap & Moose but I feel I must take issue with a few of your points there. The people who compiled the Charley's War books are fans of the strip, not cold "big boys" who know nothing about comics. Any flaws in reproduction are due to the difficulties in scanning from comics, as they don't have...

Re: Question about "Charley´s War" paperback issues
i was looking into the rights thing recently after talking to jim marshall (www.bloodforthebaron.com) about reprints. he wanted to publish a load of action force stuff but obviously mattel own the rights to that. anyway, i called melanie leggett at egmont legal to see about licencing some johnny red...

Re: IPC and Egmont. Who owns what characters?
2000Ad was also sold off, to rebellion. this makes the ownership of some characters sketchy when considering the starlord/tornado mergers. rebellion claimed to own all of the starlord and tornado characters, not just those that appeared in tooth after the mergers, but this has been disputed. the lon...

lew, i can't help but think that it's because DCT are still there publishing comics and therefore would appreciate any form of advertising to promote the medium, hence a lot of co-operation, whereas IPC are long since divested of any comics output, having sold off stuff to pay the bills or because t...

SOLDIER SHARP OF THE RIFLES
ah yes...arnie sharp was a bit of a bounder, but the art was great, especially after the battle/valiant merger, where joe colquhoun took over, and got his first regular battle gig.
