Re: Digital Dandy
I don't know if I'm being a little dumb but I'm really confused with the new Digital Dandy news... Will I still be able to read The Digital Dandy on Android and will I get a refund on the credits I spent previously? Also, does this mean if I can read the issues on Android, I'll have to re-purchase ...

Re: Digital Dandy
Maybe the Dandy will finally become an app? A phone/tablet edition makes much more sense. And I agree that the advertising and awareness building has been somewhat muted. And, speaking personally, I would have preferred more for my £1.50. They could even throw a few reformatted classic strips into t...

Re: PPA Best Cover of the Century - vote for the Beano!!
2000ad isn't a member of the PPA anyway, so is not included. I also note that they only feature magazines that are still being published, which limits the field somewhat! Bet the resulting PR splurge doesn't mention the pathetically short short list or the strict eligibility criteria. Cover of the C...

Re: PPA Best Cover of the Century - vote for the Beano!!
Beano cover...you say iconic, I say generic. Ditto Darth and the Dalek. I voted for the excellent New Scientist cover, as that one grabbed my attention, ignoring the Beano/Star Wars/Doctor Who triad of my love. See how fair-minded I am?

Re: Terry Bave's New Book
I'm guessing anyone interested in the classic IPC/Fleetway humour titles has already got this, but if you haven't - I highly recommend it. It reads like a biography of a man doing a job, any job - it just happens to be drawing comics, with a warmth, wit and talent that is refreshingly grounded. I fo...

I have to admit you forget to look...and purchase...its not as good as paper...though I subscribe I'm behind in my reading.. reading online is tiring.. This has been my experience too, Pete. Of course, I'm much older than their target market - in contrast, my kids have already adapted to the online...

Re: The best comic or book you got in 2012
The best comic of 2012 was undoubtedly the last ever Dandy. So much creativity and fun, it ended on a high. The Beano has also improved recently, and for the first time in years I'm starting to genuinely look forward to the next issue.

The Phoenix is now an app...
The Phoenix is now available on the iPad. And only the iPad, so Android users will have to wait. The launch offer is £9.99 for six months. That's a really good deal if you have the technology. There's no access to back issues, unfortunately. Among the three comments already on the Appstore - Barnaby...

Re: This week's issue Take 2
In the interests of keeping on this fine forum a catalogue of every last mistake or inconsistency in The Beano (pedantry being a peculiar byproduct of our love...), I'd like to be the first to point out that this week's Roger The Dodger is a reprint - from last week :) None subscribers can point thi...

Gift Pack
Ignore this if it's been mentioned, but you can get five issues of The Phoenix, two badges, a sheet of stickers and a postcard for fifteen quid. Not sure it's great value, but it would make a nice Christmas gift or a subscription-free sampler of the comic...

Re: The Final Dandy
I hope they're still there tomorrow then (by the time I get there tonight, they'll be closed, I'm on Bransholme), thanks for that. I just popped in and there's still four copies. It looks like 4 quid is a bit steep for my fellow council estate dwellers... http://www.star-chicken.com/SadlyTheLastDan...
