Re: What comics did you buy today?

Picked up Victor Books 1972 and 1976 and Lion Anual 1967 in Deptford Market today for £4.50. Last week I got Bronco Layne Annual 1960, Lion Book of War Adventures 1962 and ATV Television Star Book 1962 for £5.00. Does the Lion Book Of War Adventures 1962 contain lots of comic strips, or is it mostl...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

A word about the Gangland comic I bought in the list above. I was attracted to the cover because it looked similar to the work Lawson Wood used to produce. I knew the cover bore no relation to the three stories inside so I just merely bought It because of the cover. https://i.imgur.com/iV8B3AR.jpg ...

Re: Kim comic

The Rusty Staples blog says:

"Kim
From: 24 April, 1982
To: 2 June, 1983
Duration: 1 year, 1 month
Issues: 59

A magazine aimed at young teenage girls… Contained photo-stories, but apparently more of a mag than a comic."

So some comic strip content, I suppose.

If you go to https://britishcomics.wordpress.com/2019/05/13/look-and-learn-1976-1982/ you'll be able to download many issues of Look And Learn from 1976 and 1977. Scroll down the page and you' see a linkt to earlier issues. You'll need software to open the files (I use Easy Unrar Lite) and to read t...

Re: Steve Larrabee in Rover

Steve Larrabee was a British fictional cowboy created to publicise Lone Star Company's cowboy toys. They hired an actor called Roy Green to play the role in publicity events then a BBC TV series and a radio series. I assume that DCT licensed the character for this story.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

The new Battle Of Britain Special from Rebellion. Rat Pack as nasty as ever, balanced by a short story that left me a bit misty-eyed, and I've still lots to read. In the shops later this week. 100 pages.

Re: British / American Comics in China

The last scan looks like the work of Walt Kelly, but badly traced. He did a lot of comic book work before creating Pogo. This might be from Fairy Tale Parade, which has a Facebook page at https://m.facebook.com/WaltKellysFairyT ... l&mt_nav=0. People there might know.
