Re: eBay embellisher

I posted a £2.95 Dandy to an ebayer 2nd class last Saturday and they've today opened a non delivery case. I already told them I'd had a history of late deliveries from Greenwich PO and the counter clerk said quite a few customers had complained about delayed delivery. Can't understand their impatien...

Evening Standard front cover cartoon

Halloween edition cover of the London Evening Standard which I found quite impressive. Drawn by Ben Jennings who's work I'm not familiar with.

Re: Complete Collections

The two titles I'd like to have complete runs of are Solo and TV Tornado, I only have about 30 of the latter and had just a handful of issues of Solo but I realised I'd never get a set so sold those few I had. I began collecting in 1965 when a friend knocked on my door and showed me TV Century 21. H...

Re: Mandy 234 Chill Out

That would be Mandy Picture Story Library #234. Has four "Super-Spooky" stories. Looks interesting.

Re: Complete Collections

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. World adventure library series also ran for only 14 issues but getting a full run could be a problem as I put issue #14 on ebay a few years ago and it sold for £1131.00 An astonishing sum. I can only assume it wasn't distributed and is very rare.

Re: Complete Collections

Going from memory I have full runs of Fantastic Terrific TV21 (new series) Countdown (but not TV Action) Joe 90 (1968 series - 34 issues?) Buddy Super DC (except #14 which I'm not sure exists as I've never seen a copy) Buzz Cracker Hoot Some cracking series there. I never really went for Hoot, Crac...

Re: 2024 Annual previews

I was in WH Smiths a couple of days ago and looked at the annuals. I was alarmed to see the softcover black and white Broons book was the same price as the hardback full colour Beano book at £11.99. Is that a mistake? Have they erroneously allocated the price for the best of Broons/Oor Wullie hardba...

Re: Max Miller

Wally was very good at drawing in the style of other artists so would fill in on strips when the normal artist was away.

Re: 2024 Annual previews

Off topic but a few days ago I was sitting at a bus stop at Deptford Bridge when the Beano Afternoon Tea Bus passed by. Looking online I see it's only available for a few weeks. It's an old Routemaster bus. Wish I could have got my phone out in time to video it.

Re: Max Miller

I have hundreds of rough Film Fun strips drawn by Wally Robertson. At first I thought they were roughs before submitting the completed art but later realised they were scripts which editors preferred to be submitted sketched out. It looks like he submitted scripts for just about every strip includin...
