Re: currently on at the 'pictures':
I adored Conan. Can't believe the bad reviews it's been getting. I don't think I've seen a better straight unwatered down version of a sword-n-sorcery flick. I'm giving it an 8 or 9 out of 10.

Re: ABCs for Jan-Jun 2011 - disappointing results...
I don't believe dropping celebrities will make a difference. Also, Dandy's had more promotion than most comics in the form of the Sunday Post giveaway, as well as various bits'n'pieces of news-stories. Sure, people would like more but it's still more than most comics. Perhaps the frequency is too mu...

Plenty of Dandy in Nottingham. Unfortunately, seems to be plenty left each week. I doubt there's a huge difference between one month and the next. Can't see it being to blame for such a big drop.

Re: ABCs for Jan-Jun 2011 - disappointing results...
Lew Stringer said... As someone mentioned to me the other day, it's a bit suspicious that sales of The Dandy appear to have dropped exactly half when it went from fortnightly to weekly. Is there a expert on statistics around to explain this bizarre coincidence? I'm sure some readers did hate the ch...

Unfortunately, it probably needs cover-mounted gifts. Those sales are unbelievably poor.

Re: Comic DVDs on eBay
What's the point? All you're doing is stopping people being able to buy comics that haven't been published for the last 30 or more years. DCT have no interest it seems in publishing them, so there not protecting their copyright. There's virtually no money in them either, hence the closure of Classic...

Re: Spam postings
That was cunning. Seemed to leave a comment that might have been genuine. Quality Comics enthusiast born in 1968 - so Marvelman as opposed to Plastic Man - seemed to work too.

Re: Fantasy Football League - 2011/12
The Highland Valiant, with all-Scots players, are back. We had some difficulty adjusting to the pace of the game down south last year, but now we're confident of a top 10 finish this season.

From what I understand - and I could be wrong - it's basically over one person, who isn't exactly Mr Popular with everyone else. If it's 1-against-1, there's an obvious solution.

Re: Utlimate Spider-Man is half black, half Hispanic
I don't think it's necessarily racism. Depends who's saying it. I can understand a lot of comic fans disliking change. Peter Parker is Spider-Man. That's how it's always been (not quite true but I'll gloss over Reilly), that's how they want it. In mythology, Thor was red-haired but Marvel wants thei...

Re: Free Dandy in The Sunday Post
A bit of fun. Noteworthy UK comics, as in, non-imported comics that changed Britain's comic history - here's my guesses: The Glasgow Looking Glass (non-DC): first ever comic Ally Sloper (non-DC): a character gets his own comic for the first time Comic Cuts (non-DC): first mass-appeal comic Dandy : t...

Re: Digital Comics
I would far far prefer a cheaper Essential Marvel/DC Showcase/Judge Dredd Case Files version, i.e. big volumes of comics. Or even smaller graphic novels. They were mostly black-and-white anyway, so we're losing little by not having colour. Even by just selling them as print-on-demand books via Amazo...

Certainly is. And a lot more!
Let me know what kind of stories, format, frequency you'd like to see and I'll see if it's possible.
Cheers for the support. It can't go on without any.
