Re: What comics did you buy today?

I must admit, for quite a few years all I bought were Beano and Dandy annuals and comics, but it got to the stage where all the ones I wanted cost far too much. Luckily I discovered the delights of 'The Big Five', which were much more reasonably priced.

Today bought myself a Christmas Dandy comic No.108 from the 23rd of December 1939. Pics to follow a.s.a.p. 🙂

What's the earliest Dandy/Beano comic you have?

Re: What's it worth?

I found an old post on here from 2017 koollectablz » Thu Jan 12, 2017 12:05 am In the 70s/80s I used to go to jumble sales a lot (scouring for Rupert stuff) - at one I happened to pick up a couple of nicely produced 'funny animal' comics with thick card covers. I'd never heard of them at all, but th...

Re: Swaps 1930s DC Thomson/John Leng Annuals

Haven't got any for sale/swap, but I have seen a black and white picture of the second Fun Book For Boys somewhere, and I also have been looking for it for quite a few years. The title Three-Men-In-A-Tub is correct, and I can confirm that at least the first Adventure Land annual did originally have ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Just got the first Triumph annual today, from 1937. I've been looking for them for years and only managed to get the 1939 one previously. They hardly ever come up for sale anywhere. There's only 5 in the set, and the 1940 one seems to be so scarce that we haven't got a picture of the cover in our ga...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Not quite today, but certainly recent purchases. I've started to collect early annuals with dust jackets. I've fallen in love with the designs of the 'Chums Annuals', however they are proving nigh on impossible to find with surviving dust jackets. So far, I've managed to find three (1925, 1936-7, 1...

Thanks to those who replied, I'll find it eventually, quite often more fun searching than finding it straight away!
