I’ve got one of those Eagle variations too. I’ve heard that it was to test the colour printing press. A nice thing to have in the collection. I have seen one go for £1,000 !

I was told it may have a promotional issue, but still very rare. Many thanks for your reply

At last after a fair bit of searching I’ve acquired the late sixties British versions of Zap Comix issues 0 & 1. Containing the total non licenced content of the US originals, with the bonus of issue 0 having additional British content “Help Keep Britain High.” These were two shillings, sixpence each so pricey at the time.

Can we see them please? I don’t think I’ve ever come across them!

Visited first car boot sale for a few weeks and it was an enjoyable morning with plenty of antique stuff instead of the usual tat. There wasn't a lot of annuals and comics on display but I did pick up a Beano 1974 and a BIGGLES anual at a £1 each plus 50p for a Viz 2007 annual(not shown )As a fan of old illustrated books I picked up a early 1900's set of 5 Fores Sporting notes and sketches, these were medium sized books each containing 32 tinted page illustrations , examples of some of which are included in the illustration below, these I got for £3 the set. There were some younger children's annuals at the carboot such as Jack and Jill., Andy Pandy,Bimbo but I didn't buy them in the end. There were also two fairly old 80 page Superman and Superboy comics I was interested in but when the seller mentioned the back pages on each were missing I reluctantly changed my mind :)

A very large batch of early 2000ADs along with an eclectic mix of 1970s and 1990s comics. Bonus find was intact Monster Funs ranging from issue 1 to the last issue.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

As an infant my first comic collection, consisting only of Pippin and Playland, was thrown away by my mother. I’ve always meant to go back and reacquire those very early 1970s issues. Now the first few dozen are due to roll in, so I can relive the delights of The Moonbeans, The Herbs and Mary Mungo & Midge all over again.

They’re both really tough to get. I picked up my #2 this year too.
