Sometimes you get results when you least expect it.
One of the charity shops I used to visit regularly was quite a bike ride away and I was finding it more difficult to find comics that I liked there, culminating in me finding nothing to buy on my last visit a month ago.
I set out to visit the shop today not expecting to buy anything but just settling for the cycling exercise.
To my surprise I found at least 20 comics I liked but settled for 8 at a £1each, they were---
Marvel Red Sonja 1979
DC Flash 1978
DC Swamp Thing Annual 1982
DC Swamp Thing 1982
DC Swamp Thing 1984 (Alan Moore)
DC Swamp Thing 1985 (Alan Moore)
DC Superboy 1981
DC Superboy 1984
Without me asking the lady at the till said she would knock a £1 off the price making it only £7

I have a few Film Fun annuals but they did have one that I have not got which they priced at £8.
I decided not to buy it as I may see it around for sale somewhere else for less in the future.

Just bought a four issue subscription to the Beano (which should include No. 4000. I had calculated it should reach it by the 31/8/2019 issue) from Newsstand.co.uk

Got one of the better Dandy Beano reprint books from today's car boot sale.
DANDY BEANO Great stories from the first 50 years, well worth the pound I paid.
For me this relates to a time when Beano and Dandy had some amazing adventure stories and wonderful characters that are of far more interest than today's Beano/Dandy offerings, but then again that maybe just an age nostalgia thing .
Also bought at today's car boot Jack and Jill annual 1963 ------50p and that's about all I could find this week apart from a DC comic I liked but the stallholder would only sell it in a bulk lot with about a dozen or more other comics that I wasn't so keen on therefore no buy, goodbye. :)

You can't be accused of hanging about there, abacus, can you? I just checked my copy, and it only came out in 1990. I might read it when I come back from my holiday, but then again...............

It was in the shops in 1990 but it took me 29 years to have enough money to buy it :D
I must confess I bought it more for the marvelous artwork than the stories and I don't know when if ever I will get around to reading it all.
My tablet is filled with dozens of non fiction books (170 at present count that will take a long time to get through) which I am reading through on a daily basis and they are of more interest to me.
l also prefer early morning reading before my mind starts wandering later in the day :)

Went to Kempton Park antiques fair yesterday. It was wet and windy and the bloke I normally buy comics from wasn't there. Quite a few dealers were missing or had left early. However in the indoors section I spotted some Beanos and went to investigate. The seller said he had a bag full of comics under the table. £30 the lot so I couldn't resist. Here's a list:

Scorcher and Score 7 X 1971, 5 X 1972
Dandy 2 X 1972
Beano 9 X 1973
Roy of the Rovers 1 X 1977, 11 X 1978, 30 X 1979, 1 X 1980.
Shoot! One each from 1970,1971,1979 and 1980.
Goal 2 X 1969, 3 X 1970, 3 X 1971.
Shiver and Shake 26/5/1973
Score n Roar 28/11/1970
Striker 36 12/9/1970, 103 25/12/1971
Lion and Thunder 1/5/1971
Cor!! 1/7/1972
Victor 1177 10/9/1983
Warlord 428 4/12/82, 451 14/5/83, 460 16/7/83, 462 30/7/83

The postman just handed me a package containing six Dandys from 1954/55. £10 the lot off eBay. Very nice condition.
