You must be psychic Peter. I've just added this photo of me to MySpace. It's from 1974 when I was 15 and taken on the day I found a shop in Blackpool that sold those Marvel black and white comic magazines (the US horror mags not the UK comics):

Note the Donny Osmond hairstyle! No wonder it fell out.

The only photo I have of that ilk is about the same year, but has me lying on the floor reading a comic with my feet in the air (I am a tad younger than lew! :D ) as I lay on the carpet engrossed in the comic of the time. Not sure what the comic was, but it's probably a Beano. Will see if I can snaffle a copy next time I am home.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

a party trick I often did crackers on ears!!
My friend Steven looked like Smiffy to me...hence the drawing I did above his head.
Also the cupboard held all my Beano's and other comics also in the tubs are Beano comic libraries.
Theres my old Beano annuals displayed on my wall stand.
Still a big Laurel and Hardy fan.
Also theres my totem pole I made out of Grandads present to me a woodwork kit..
Nothing like a wooden telly. and fake wood panelling...the clasic 80's red's, greys and blacks..also stripes and patterns..

I love comics...still do..

Didn't get my letter published But got a cool poster and T. shirt.
Theres my Gnasher drawing I did biting Dennis Dad slipper.

heres my friend Mark Cane posing..you can see a bit more of my wood work..

There may be the odd daguerrotype of me as child somewhere enjoying the delights of a comic or two but where exactly I know not. I also believe Derek (phoenix) may have the odd woodcut or two in which he is similarly engrossed.

I spent my 21st birthday painting cartoon murals on a pub wall and if I can find the photos of this I will place them on here.

While you're about it, ISPY, could you please post the photo of the curious mouse in your granny's privy. :D

That looks like a proper Beano bedroom you had Peter. Reminds me of the sort of photos today's kids send to the Beano.

My bedroom wall was covered in superhero pin-ups from the back covers of Fantastic and Terrific. No photos of it exist though; my Mum's box brownie camera didn't have a flash for indoor photography.

Is it my imagination or has Tolworthy's mammoth Buster collection spilled over from his bedroom into his back yard? Perhaps it's only because his mother's camera didn't have a flash either. Great collection nevertheless for a 16 year old.

sadly the pub I drew my cartoons on is long-gone, colcool, but it was the GEORGE HOTEL in Dunbar High Street. Of special interest to myself, as it was my first proper-paid art job.

Today, my sister runs a pub in the same high street, and large framed pix of my cartoons are on display there---I intend taking photos during my next visit, so hopefully I can place 'em on here.........

Really impressed. I do have a couple of me from the 1980s when I was a kid.
