Does anybody know much about the strips in Tammy?

I think Gerry Finley-Day was editor of the title when it started, and wrote a lot of stuff alongside Pat Mills and John Wagner.

There's supposedly lots of "mental cruelty" in girls' comics of the early '70s and I'd like to know what was in Tammy that was so bad it deserved the description. It's for a feature I'm writing. I'm hunting early '70s issues on eBay to find out more.

All help appreciated.

Have you tried the Search function, Moose? I think you'll find a few posts on Tammy - and also details of the Crikey issue which did a feature on it.

I had a quick look before I posted, and I've found a few 1976/77 'watershed' issues which may help, but I was really wondering just what were the most tormented strips. I shall continue to read around, there's some stuff in an interview with PAt Mills if only i could find it.

I'll look out for Crikey as well, thanks.
