You could hire a 3D printer and knock out a dozen more.

I'm convinced some people think Phil is the only person selling old comics and related material. (Good for him though. He's mastered some magic that attracts high bidders on everything so make the most of it, I say.)colcool007 wrote:That was not a price paid, that was a declaration of insanity!big bad bri wrote:i cant believe 2000ad prog 1 free gift went for so much.some people have more money than sense m sure its cheaper for the comic and free gift combined

It was sold to an Aussie as well so postage wouldn't have been cheap.big bad bri wrote:i cant believe 2000ad prog 1 free gift went for so much.some people have more money than sense m sure its cheaper for the comic and free gift combined

Hmm... There have been numerous frisbees given away with comics over the years. I'm not convinced that's the 2000AD one. Even if it is, who's going to buy a damaged gift?

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
I sold the full first volume of eagle this year for less than he got for #1. lol.
The one sale he's made this week that beggars belief was the Sparky #1.
That really was terrible condition. Whoever gets that will surely experience huge buyers remorse.
Good luck to Phil though I must say, the only concern is whether the people buying think they're getting value for money? - if the person that bought the Sparky were to try and resell would it even go over £100?
For instance there was a guy selling the first ten Beano summer specials not so long ago asking a very high price (excluding the combined '63), and part of his listing was that he'd bought the '64 from Phil and at what price - like that was going to make his asking price worth it... Weird.
Phil is just selling stuff that other people consign to him after all.

I remember a few months ago someone trying to sell Dandy #2 with its free gift jumping frog for about £25,000. Well he didn't sell it but has relisted it for 99p. Its actually been bid up to over £1,000 at present.

I thought that was a bit cheeky, I sent him a message asking why he had Phil-comics in his title - 'Is it the name of one of the comic characters in the Dandy?' I asked, got no reply !!big bad bri wrote:wonder why they have put phil-comics in the description though, surely that's not allowed
