Ebay - you want how much for it???

Post by Richard S. »

nothing wrong with trying to make an honest buck as they say, but sometimes you can see some crazy prices sought for things on e-bay, here's my favourite at the moment

My full run of Hoot complete with free gifts is cheap in comparison - £150.00 but they attracted no bids so I relisted them yesterday. All in as new condition and individually bagged - what more do you want?

Must be a mis-type or SOMETHING. The same seller's got 14 Action Force comics for £20 (and even that's asking too much, ha!).

It must be a mistake surely? It is not as if he has the whole set.

I would be tempted to offer a tenner if I wanted them.

As a seller, you can ask what you want- but if no-one offers then it's not gonna sell! One seller on E.bay has tried to sell a Beezer comic free gift for over three years now! They first priced it over £300. Now they are down to about £180. Something is only worth what folks will pay for it!

I was looking for Jackpot No. 1 at the start of the year, but there was a seller that wanted £85 for it (no free gift though). I ended up striking it back in May as a buy it now for £5. (by this time, the price was reduced to £75 the last time I looked a few months ago.

It's still up there, but now reduced even further to £45. He'll end up cutting his losses, and start the bid at a more realistic price (around £4)

I have to say for these two 1983 Beano Comics how should I put this politely: the seller is wildly optimistic

that is an absurd asking price, and there is also a 4 pounds 50 postage and packing addition-----this items are barely worth the postage fee alone I reckon.

But who knows---maybe these items are the Holy Grail of comics to someone.

The same seller also has Superman comics at ridiculously unrealistic prices. (A 1972 issue at £375.)

Still, if they want to waste their own time and eBay fees listing things that won't sell its their loss.

There are other Superman examples too.

Looks to me to be pure greed plus the fact he/she doesn't know the value of the product.
