It was fifty years ago this morning that Dudley Watkins was found dead at his desk by his wife Doris. He had suffered a heart attack, aged 62 and, because his work has been in print so often since his death, it hardly seems credible that he has been gone so long. He was a one off and, to me, he was, and still remains, the best.
