Fascinating and I hate to admit this but I wasn't even aware of a Dan Dare cartoon ever being on TV.
Do you know if it's available on DVD Richard?
Hi Jim,
some of the episodes are available on DVD but not all of them. There was a single DVD produced (this had 3 stories on it) and there was a double DVD produced (this had 6 stories on it). There were (I think!) 22 episodes in total - a mix of standalone episodes and 2-parters.

cheers
Richard
Many thanks Richard.
After reading this post earlier today, I found both the single and double DVD on ebay but it was confusing as when looking at details they were all the same minutes in duration so rather than spend £25 I got the single DVD for a bargain £2.98 !!
I will report back as to contents when I receive it.
Cheers

Hi Richard
Just to say that I received the Dan Dare DVD today and despite sellers description it was the two disc version that you mentioned !!
6 stories (as you stated) in 12 2 part episodes.
I watched the first episode just now,"The God of War" part 1 and it was excellent fun, even ending in a brilliant cliffhanger !
Really pleased that I got this, many thanks to you and your blog as I didn't even know that it existed.
Thanks Richard
Cheers

Great progress made in my researches into 'Cookie' comic (from 1990) I now know it lasted 13 issues & there was even a holiday special as well. Progress all thanks to Denis Gifford's ACE newsletters.

Here's some more vintage Dan Dare merchandise...the contents of the box actually look really good this time, but the rules of the game are very simple.
