Someone's created a blog called The Beano Project (seems to have been around a while, they're saying they're moving to Google groups) and among the uploaded items are links to the latest issue of Classics from the Comics, and a Beano from just a month ago. Search, and there's lots of old stuff too, not all Beano related. Sounds illegal to me - breach of copyright. You need to already have an account with Demonoid to view a lot of them unfortunately, but Demonoid isn't accepting new membership. Not sure the owner of Beano Project realises this.

Demonoid was down for a bit apparently, but it's back up now. I've got the invitation code (obtained from one of the guys at The Beano Project) if anyone wants it.

No thanks. I see he's providing scans of loads of old annuals too. In my experience publishers are ok with blogs running a few pages from a comic as part of an article but when some cheeky gits scan entire issues that's just taking the mick.

I sometimes get asked for scans and torrents of comics on my blog. All those requests go straight into the bin. If they can't be satisfied with a cover repro and a couple of pages let the greedy idle lot scour eBay or comic marts and buy their own old comics like the rest of us did!

It's bad enough that we don't receive payments for reprints. At least I try to give some background info to the scans on my blog, to at least credit the people who produced those gems and to give a sense of history to the items I'm showing. Just throwing a link up for a download seems so sleazy to me, - and is indeed in breach of copyright as you mention.

As it happens, quite a few of the comics listed have been deleted, but not removed from the list. I think DCT might have found out about it and is forcing them to take them down.

What ever happened to this? Can they still be downloaded somehere?
