commando issue 1 mint condition

Pocket-sized war 'comic' that has been around since 1961 and is still going strong.

Who currently owns the copyright to the Thriller Picture Library series?

Yes, Time-Warner own the AP, Fleetway, Odhams and IPC comics from pre-1970. A shame they're not doing anything with them.

I am sure that I have said it somewhere else but wouldn't it be great if a Rebellion type company bought up the characters from Time-Warner and did something with them? :(
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).

Jack Staff did a great job of merging IPC, with Marvel and 60/70s Brit TV and film characters. Never paid a penny in licensing anything either. The really awful part was that, even though it was all by one person, it didn't sell enough to continue. So, certainly not for a profit-making company with admin staff etc. Still there are three (IIRC) TPBs out there that are hugely recommended.

I'd love to win the Euro Millions and "go shopping" for old AP copyrights.

I'd not be a "rebellion type company" though. My revivals would be the same as the originals, not cannibals!

Sorry, felneymike. What I meant by "Rebellion Type company", was for the strips/characters to be updated for 2016 using artists/authors of today but making sure that their original essences were retained. Rebellion has certainly done that with certain characters in 2000AD.

Think I have sussed this one. Looking around for images to use on my latest article and I noticed that the ammo box pack of Commando anthologies from 2008 included a reprint of issue 1. This could explain why it is such a brilliant facsimile of issue 1.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
