I'm still really liking the Phoenix - we get it for the kids (well, more for the 5 year old than the 3 year old) and read it ourselves too of course. It's got a reasonable mix of regular / serial stories and one-offs, and the brilliant Jamie Smart is always very funny.

Looks like you picked that up just on time - 201 will have come out today. Lew Stringer posted a blog about this development last week:

Thanks for the plug, Digifiend.

Unfortunately there's no sign of issue 201 in my local Smiths this week. They still had a stack of issue 200 this afternoon.

Maybe it was just a one off then. Didn't they do this once before at Tesco?

It's definitely intended to be in Smiths every week, so I don't know what's gone wrong. Other people are also saying their branches of Smiths still have issue 200.

Same for me, Lew. Bit of a worry as we all know how 'specific' the WHS re-ordering system can be: "sold 2, therefore only need to re-stock 2 etc.". Hope they iron out the problems quickly!

I checked WHSmith (Kingswood, Hull) today, while looking for Doctor Who Comic (which they still had the previous issue of instead of the new one! :x) - they didn't have The Phoenix at all. Which probably means 200 sold out, 201 not arrived.

I was in my local Smiths this afternoon and the shelf stacker was just putting issue 201 on display, so better late than never. New series of Looshkin by Jamie Smart starts this week.

Also the second episode of "Battlesuit Bea", also by Jamie Smart - my kid is loving it. She read the first ep I dunno how many times, over and over to herself :) :)

Computer adjusts stock orders based on sales. Sounds like it wasn't selling in your area. My local branch has cut its Phoenix orders from 8 to 2, probably because I'm the only person buying it from there. I suspect my Smiths may be dropping it soon.

I dunno if it is local as the 3 branches i regularly use,ie. wood green ,Waltham cross and Enfield seem to have none any more and ive not seen it in liverpool st when i'm there.these i consider all my locals as not to far to travel.
