Re: I flipping love Viz
Looks like I'll be spending a few months back in the UK, so I look forward to buying it again. Viz gets confiscated when I send issues by post to Egypt. I guess the Fat Slags or Danny and his Trannies are just a little too over the top
Re: I flipping love Viz
Danny and his Trannies? lol, that strip's title clearly comes from Topper's Danny's Tranny - of course, if that strip was brought back these days, they'd have to rename it, because these days tranny means transsexual, not transistor radio.

And in this case it most certianly refers to ...the other thing. The one with the "Virgin CD shop" and "TV repair man" was brilliant.

Thanks. I'd forgotten about those gags! Surprised to find it's been ten years since I created the strip. I only did a few of them as there's not a great deal of mileage in it. I hope to do another one soon though.felneymike wrote:And in this case it most certianly refers to ...the other thing. The one with the "Virgin CD shop" and "TV repair man" was brilliant.

Its funny you should say that, I thought of that after reading what the editor (Sven the Sax ) said to me, but thought it was a bit 'lazy' for want of a better word. lo and behold the next issue had a vicious teddy bear in it!felneymike wrote:Teddy bears with chainsaws, gotcha.

You sometimes see an artist in one issue who doesn't appear in others, or artists that only appear rarely. You ought to give them a go!
Also even while they have the "regulars" who are in every issue they sometimes draw 2 page strips, while another time may only draw a 4 panel one, so they probably have a much less "formal" way of accepting contributions, and can fit them in more easily.
