Nice to see that cartoonists are still unafraid to offend.
From what I can tell, the Mail is the same as the gutter-lining tabloids, disguised as a broadsheet so that the racists and bigots can feel less thick when they're buying it.

Because it doesn't have a red top logo? According to Wikipedia, it was originally a broadsheet, but it changed to compact format in 1971 when it merged with the tabloid Daily Sketch. The Sketch's editor took over as the editor of the merged title, and so it's been a red top style tabloid ever since. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail
Lew Stringer wrote:From my experiences the Mail sadly panders to the bigoted, xenophobic attitudes of its readers, so I doubt the cartoon will bother them at all.
Remarks seem very sniffy about newspapers.I know Lew reads the daily mirror and I should imagine Phoenix reads the Independent or the Times. Each newspaper is there to sell as many copies as possible.I am a Sun reader and I know each paper has its own agenda but the main thing is to be up to date on the news and also be entertained,As a comic reader you didn't criticize Beano readers because you read Buster.
I'm not going to express an opinion one way or the other but surely this thread belongs in the non comic thread section I come here to read interesting stuff about comics not see a row about anyone's political views there are enough websites for that so please put this in the non comic section rant over

As a socialist, abacus, I could be a reader of The Independent but never of The Times. In reality I get The Guardian, which is printed from Monday to Saturday, and The Sunday Mirror whenever I decide to buy a Sunday paper.
