"ONE OF OUR BUSES IS MISSING"
ISSUES 31-33 (1971)
Stan and Jack are sent by Blakey to go to head office and pick up the wages for the depot.
They stop to get Stans' Mum a Birthday present.
Their bus is stolen by crooks who are after the wages money.
Giving chase on Arthurs' motorcycle they stop the crooks by drilling a hole in their fuel tank,using Mums' present.
"The police caught the crooks and head office says you're a hero! I hate you Butler!" - Blakey

"STANS' SUSPENSION"
ISSUES 34-37 (1971)
In a rush to get to his date with Ethel, Stan is spotted speeding by the police who issue a friendly warning to the depot.
Blakey uses it as an excuse to have Stan suspended.
When he is re-instated,Stan is told he has to re-take his bus driving test, he is furious and resigns.
Later, Mum is serving up bangers and mash to Arthur and Olive but gives Stan bread and dripping as he is unemployed.
Stan decides to get his job back.
This second story in the strip series captures the characters extremely well and is genuinely funny.

Inspector Blake catches Stan and Jack using their bus after work for private enterprise.
He orders them back to the depot but on the way they spot a school on fire.
Realising that the fire brigade will not get there in time they rescue the kids and Blakey fails in getting the pair fired for misconduct.
Instead they are branded heroes.
"Better move fast me old mate! With my reputation I might be in line for promotion-like taking over your job!"
"Gah!I hate you Butler!"

Stan decides to bring the workers out and mount a strike picket.

"A Shaggy Dog Story"
Stan and Jack find a stray St Bernard on their bus.
The dog attaches itself to Stan, despite his efforts to return it to the dog home.
Later, there is an attempted robbery at the bus depot and the dog saves the day so gets adopted as the depots' mascot with Blakey responsible for its' care.

The last late night run on the number 14 route brings trouble for Stan and Jack in the form of a gang of local tearaways.
After a brush with a long haired lay about, Stan discovers that the youth is Sid Slade, Blakeys' nephew !
Stan is then threatened by Blakey with charges of assault.
