FOLLYFOOT:THE LOOK IN STRIPS CHRONOLOGY

Post by jim244 »

STORY 1:
ISSUES 27-33 (1971)
WRITER:ANGUS P ALLAN
ARTIST:MIKE NOBLE
"Dancer"

Framed by the Hammonds of Pinecrest,Steve is due to be tried for stealing "Tango",a horse he actually found tethered to the gates of Follyfoot Farm. His only chance is to find the real owner, circus groom Ted Wilson.
Dora will prove Steves' innocence.

The first thing I noticed about this strip was that the art was spread over the two pages and was so Mike Noble of TV Century 21.
It's a cleverly scripted tale but the art is incredible and I now forgive Noble for leaving Timeslip.

The Colonel, owner of Follyfoot farm, home for old and unwanted horses, desperately needs money to keep the place going.
Hoping to win,he enters his stallion "Satan" in a forthcoming point to point.
He hires a crack jockey who is mysteriously injured,so his niece,Dora, takes over Satans' training.
All goes well until a fire in the stables.
Although there is no evidence, everyone suspects ruthless Lewis Hammond of trying to wreck the Colonels' chances.
