William Brown was a fictional school boy created by author Richmal Crompton in a 1922 book which lead to many further books, stories and radio, film and television adaptions.
In 1977 there was a popular TV series that Look-in produced a comic strip of.
Due to various reasons, mainly copywrite, the strip didn't feature original stories and instead faithfully interpretated seven of Cromptons' stories.
It was drawn in a suitably oldie worldly style and whilst charming in it's own right, didn't ever feel correct for the mag.
John Ransom was the artist.
