STORY 2: "INTO THE SUN"
ISSUES 9-18 (1977)

Starcruiser leaps towards the skies, bound on a new mission to test it's cooling systems.
The mission is to make an ultra close flight by the sun, whose fiery surface radiates heat and light at a temperature of 6000 degrees centigrade.
The ship flies low over the sun baked plains of Mercury.
Starcruiser overheats with the radiators blowing away so they head to asteroid Icarus, which orbits the sun.
They shade behind it.
David Starr and Venus Brown go out to repair the damaged cooling systems.
They then take Starcruiser to Space Wheel 2,a giant orbitting city, for repairs.
Fully repaired the ship and crew head back to Earth.

STORY 3: "Crash Landing"
ISSUES 19 - 27,29 (1977)

Starcruisers' mission is a direct flight from Earth to the Moon and to land in the deepest part of the giant crater Copernicus.
To detach and test the mobile pod , taking two test crew with them, Professors Phatt and Thynne.
On the moon, after leaving Starcruiser, the pod suffers multiple jet failures and has to make a crash landing.

This strip wasn't published in issue 28 due to a Gerry Anderson full page article about his "Space City" exhibition that was currently running.

STORY 4:
"Destination Alpha Centauri"
ISSUES 30 - 44 (1977)

Equipped with larger fuel tanks that will boost Starcruisers' speed to nearly light speed, the new mission is to go to the Alpha Centauri star system.
After waking from suspended animation, David Starr and Venus Brown fly down to the surface of an alien world.
Venus names it "Terra Nova".
Their ship collides with a gas bag creature and they are forced to land in quick sand.

STORY 5
"The Hell World"
Issues 45 (1977)-3(78) 5-6 (78)

Starcruiser is on a mission to find out the source of the mysterious SOS signal coming from the planet Venus.
It turns out that this was beamed from a former moon mining robot, Robot Vee1,who was purchased and adapted by Professors Phatt and Thynne (that both appeared in an earlier story) to mine for minerals on Venus.
The robot is trapped but freed by Venus and David.
The Professors are trapped and freed by the robot, only to launch their landing module underneath the robot, damaging its circuits and leaving instructions for it to keep mining.
The robot spots a valuable ore load to mine...The Starcruiser.
