STORY 1: "Schuberts' Gold"
ISSUES 9 - 15 (1978)
WRITER:ANGUS P ALLAN
ARTIST:MIKE NOBLE
Set to watch over a secret shipment of gold bound for the United States on the cargo vessel Midas,Mark Harris,(The Man From Atlantis),foils an initial robbery attempt.
Then a School of Whales ,controlled by Mr Schubert, run full tilt into the ship and sink it.
Mark rescues all of the crew onto life boats but is snared by Schubert, along with the fortune of gold.
Schubert devises a horrifying fate for his arch enemy and Mark is shot from Schuberts' mechanical whale into the path of a school of real giant mammals controlled by ultrasonic impulses to be swallowed alive.
Nobles' art,his depiction of undersea creatures and faithful recreation of the TV shows' characters excels itself.
Allans' characterization of the major players is spot on.
Absolutely brilliant.

STORY 2 : "Monster From The Deep"
WRITER:ANGUS P ALLAN
ARTIST: MIKE NOBLE
ISSUES 16-20 (1978)
When a horrifying fish, whose normal habitat is the darkest depths of the ocean, terrorises a Californian beach, the foundation for Oceanic Research is immediately involved.
Doctor Elizabeth Merril and Mark Harris (The Man From Atlantis) are sent out in the submersible, The Cetacean.
A great story with fantastic art and truley terrifying depictions of undersea monsters that make the shark from Jaws look positively placid.
Unfortunately the story finishes before resolving the central questions of what is causing the volcanic activity beneath the sea and what is behind the bizzare growth of the giant fish.
