My heart skipped a beat when I saw the headline today. I've been buying it for fifty years although it has been hard to find in the past few. Only yesterday I received three vintage issues from eBay two of which had Black Bob strips. It was nowhere near as good as it used to be as it had lost a lot of its warmth. It closes in May which coincides with its 165th anniversary.

Two months into the first lockdown last year. I guess COVID killed it off.

I blame the editor, as I mentioned above it had lost all its warmth. Earlier issues have cartoons scattered throughout the paper and small news items as well as adverts for other Thomsom publications. Even the letters page had vanished. A sad end.
