Re: Adventure Strips in 'Knockout Out 2' Annuals.
Nice to see these. Thanks for posting.
Well, I have the 1977 Knockout Annual heading my way via the post, so I should be able to let you know what's in that one soon.
I know a few of us don't think Barry and Boing was one of the best adventure strips but that 1973 entry looks quite dynamic. The Secret of Castle Crag looks good too, so my suspicions that the 1973 Knockout Annual may be a bit of a classic are strengthened.
Any chance of page 2 of Junior Detective, please, so we can see what the title hero looks like? Ron Turner seemed to get lots of work in the IPC Annuals, didn't he (and there's another with Jim Smiley v. the Brothers Grimm) and it's always good to see.

IPC Annual finds I'd really like to discover (I'm not sure if they actually exist) would be a Buster Book with a big long exclusive Leopard From Lime Street strip drawn by Mike Western, and a Whizzer and Chips Annual with a big long exclusive Danny Drew's Dialling Man strip drawn by Ron Turner.

Raven I will eventually buy all the knockout annuals hopefully this year.
I also need to buy a new scanner.
Here's 2 more pages from Junior Dectective.
You will have to buy Knockout Annual to see what happens.

Ah, I see - so the Junior Detective is the *reader.*
My guess is that his accomplice is the woman with the pram. She stuck the money in the pram while he ran off.

Was I right about the woman?
I can now reveal that the adventure strip in the Knockout Annual 1977 is an 18 pager (split into two parts): Morgan and O' Flynn, about a Welsh boy and his pet Irish wolfhound.

Good old Knockout - teaching kids how to commit elaborate crimes when they get older!
Is the Secret of Castle Crag story much cop?
