So the mini strips aren't axed after all. Good to know. Looks like there's no longer an official cover star then, if the long strip is always first and will be rotating characters, and Dennis is therefore on a random page each week.

SID wrote:I can understand what Digi is saying but then again you can't mistake the Christmas Special as being part of the Beano brand.

However, I do miss the supersized specials of the 70s with the specially designed logos and where even the strips were presented differently compared to the weekly.
The Christmas Special is scheduled to be out on 12th October, by the way.

Another CGI pic from The Guardian, with Dennis in (presumably) detention:

This years Beano Christmas Special is now available from WH Smith. I picked up my copy today! Like last year it contains all-new content.

It's not supposed to be displayed until next Wednesday. Ah well. An extra week's shelf life can't hurt I suppose.

I have just taken on a 2-year subscription in support of the new Beano so it will be interesting whether or not the comic will be delivered early/on time though for the main reason for me is cost.

I must admit that since I put in my sub early last week, I thought I may be getting my first issue by now.

Saying that, it may take DCT a few weeks for their admin wheels to turn.
