Huh, DC Thomson don't usually do previews, but Amazon has previews for this year's annuals.

They won’t be on the DC Thomson shop this year, because it’s ceased to exist (how shortsighted), so I think Amazon is now the official way to get them.

That Beano annual cover is what they're using in the current comic (its in the 85th anniversary issue at least) to just advertise the comic.
Its weird they're using it for both the annual and adverts.
It's a shame the DC Thomson shop's closed. I guess most people just bought the stuff off Amazon.....

Re: 2024 Annual previews
Off topic but a few days ago I was sitting at a bus stop at Deptford Bridge when the Beano Afternoon Tea Bus passed by. Looking online I see it's only available for a few weeks. It's an old Routemaster bus. Wish I could have got my phone out in time to video it.

Re: 2024 Annual previews
I was in WH Smiths a couple of days ago and looked at the annuals. I was alarmed to see the softcover black and white Broons book was the same price as the hardback full colour Beano book at £11.99. Is that a mistake? Have they erroneously allocated the price for the best of Broons/Oor Wullie hardback? (If there is one this year). What were the respective prices last year?
Re: 2024 Annual previews
According to DC Thomson’s webshop (back for Christmas only) that’s correct. I suspect it’s a case of Beano and Dandy annuals sell more and therefore the softcover book needs a higher profit per copy sold.
The My Weekly book, the Fireside Book and the Frienship Book are also all the same price - they used to be a similar price to the Oor Wullie and Broons books, but again there is a question of volumes.
I do have to suggest though that WHSmith is the wrong place to buy your annuals. Even Waterstones seems to have better discounts.
