Yes, it's Young Adult. The BBC Doctor Who spin-off Class was an example of targeting the YA audience. It's basically stories about teens aimed at teens, although I believe there is also a sizeable adult audience/readership.

I'm old enough to have watched the original live action Dennis the Menace, albeit the American character, in the sixties. I believe he has my surname - Mitchell.
