Judge Dredd on the radio

Who else heard Phil Jupitus on 'Judge Dredd' on Saturday (22nd Sept.)? Pretty interesting, it was too. The strip was a bit after my time, I must admit, but I did see one version (reprints?) in a newspaper in the 80's. It's quite impressive that it's still on the go, and I think it must be the only British comic strip to make it to a major Hollywood film (albeit not a very good one). Can anyone think of another?

James bond was a newspaper comic in the late 50's too XD

I believe a ropy version of Modesty Blaise was made in the late 60's

Yeah but that wasn't "major" or "hollywood" XD. There was also a much-derided prequel film in 2004, which is apparently good if you like the comic but confused most casual viewers
