Re: Complete Collections
I saw a load of the Alan Class printing plates at Kempton Park Antiques Fair a year or so ago but they were too heavy to buy the lot and probably too much money for me to spend on an unknown media.

Richard. I’ve sent you the whole book on PDF via Messenger.Richard S. wrote: 02 Dec 2024, 07:43I'm not sure I was aware of a book of Alan Class covers - can you share a cover image (or just the title) so that I can search for it myself? Thanks!jim244 wrote: 01 Dec 2024, 22:30I'm aware of this book and will also be purchasing, I do have one Alan Class book already that features covers of his publications.Adam Eterno wrote: 01 Dec 2024, 08:42
I’m looking forward to getting his book next week. He is a great character apparently and yes, it wasn’t all business.
I'm hoping that this will be more personable.
Did you ever invest in 30th Century Comics Alan Class printing plates issues?

Re: Complete Collections
A lovely delivery this morning. 2 comics to put me one away from complete sets and Adventures onto the Unknown #6 to give me the full set of this series of 20 from Arnold Publications in the early 1950s.
All from the same seller who only had half a dozen comics to sell but I needed 3 of them!
Sometimes your luck is in….

A much underrated comic. One of the ones that surprised me most when I began recollecting a couple of decades (!) ago.jim244 wrote: 12 Jun 2025, 03:17 Bullet 1 - 147

Re: Complete Collections
Incredible going. I’m 4 issues off a complete collection of Beano too. Also all the spin off titles and all annuals. I have a really good run of Magic but still looking for a few as well. I wonder if between us we have a full collection?Kashgar wrote: 12 Oct 2023, 16:07Thanks Doug,Adam Eterno wrote: 12 Oct 2023, 15:01Wow! I full run of Beano must only exist elsewhere in the British Library! Full runs of the Big 5 must also be few and far between, let alone the AP titles. I’m only one short of all of the Oldham’s titles myself, so I know how hard they can be to find.Kashgar wrote: 11 Oct 2023, 13:52 In nearly 50 years of collecting I've managed to amass a good number of complete collections
A complete collection of Beano, including all annuals, summer specials, comic libraries and all spinoff titles is my greatest achievement I suppose. Although I do also have all of Thomsons comic titles since 1940 and need only 49 comics, missing some Dandy and Magic, for a full run of Thomson humour titles from 1937 to the present day.
Similarly I have a complete run of Thomsons boys story/ picture papers also from 1940 to the demise of Victor over 50 years later.
AP/ Fleetham complete runs include Radio Fun, Knockout, TV Fun and Buster plus Big One and
Giggle, Then I have complete runs of Lion, Tiger, Valiant, Hurricane, Ranger, Champion, Jag, Thunder, Jet and Tornado.
I also have complete runs of all the Odhams titles Wham etc.
And lots of other items I imagine I haven't called to mind.
My favourite complete collection though is a full run of Broons and Oor Wullie books which were and still are my first love.
Thank you for sharing info on such an amazing collection.
If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been collecting and what was your initial instigation for doing so?
I have all the DCT main #1’s most with gifts (big 5, Beano, Dandy & magic but not with gifts unfortunately) I do know that the British Library collection is very much incomplete and pretty bad actually. The archives have 2 complete sets and there is another collector with a full set.
Do you also have all Puzzle Books and Fun-Size? The later issues of these are avoiding me. Lol

Re: Complete Collections
I thought I had a complete set of TV Tornado, but when reading through them, I found the illusive #49 missing! I’ve just bought a massive stack the series that holds the missing issue. I’ll have the set…..definitely, in a few days.
