Lion aircraft illustrations. Are these the original pencil drawings?

I bought a folio of 130 original pencil drawn illustrations of aircraft from WW2 onwards, and after a bit of research, I've realised they look similar to the illustrations published in Lion. I'm wondering if they might be the original artists illustrations before they were passed to an illustrator to ink in for print.
