Scherzo
Re: Scherzo
I'm still searching for this guy, as he's a complete mystery!

My closest guess was a cartoonist called Ken Evans, who seems to (mostly) fit the profile, but I'm not certain:

Re: Scherzo
I did find some photos of Ken Evans in the British Newspaper archive but I can't link to them here. He also painted a self-portrait:

Re: Scherzo
I managed to find his son and unfortunately, he's not the "Scherzo" I'm looking for. The quest continues...

So not Ken then.Gluben wrote: 01 Oct 2024, 11:02 I managed to find his son and unfortunately, he's not the "Scherzo" I'm looking for. The quest continues...
Well, I congratulate you on your tenacious determination.

A detective agency may be an answer; there is one local to me that I could direct you to if you are interested but I have no idea of the cost.
Re: Scherzo
I may as well look into it, although I suspect the cost would be prohibitive! Feel free to DM me.jim244 wrote: 01 Oct 2024, 21:51So not Ken then.Gluben wrote: 01 Oct 2024, 11:02 I managed to find his son and unfortunately, he's not the "Scherzo" I'm looking for. The quest continues...

Re: Scherzo
Have you asked the Cartoon Museum?
Re: Scherzo
Yes I have and they're none the wiser unfortunately.
Re: Scherzo
Just wondered if anybody has found anything in the last few months?

Re: Scherzo
Afraid not although I have kept him in mind, found a couple more of his cartoons, in Titbits I think.
Re: Scherzo
Ah well, if you could share more examples, that would be lovely. I think the earliest I've found from him was 1956 in the TV Times, and the latest was 1974 or so. He seems to disappear completely after that.stevezodiac wrote: 23 Nov 2025, 23:19 Afraid not although I have kept him in mind, found a couple more of his cartoons, in Titbits I think.

Re: Scherzo
Are you on X formerly known as twitter? I think I messaged you there once but can't remember which name you used. Its easier to post pictures there.
