Loved Blake 7 as a kid. I know a reboot was in the pipeline a while back before Terry Nation's untimely death. It'll be interesting to see who's cast and will it be faithful to the original series.
Well, hello there!

I would love it to follow on from the ending of series 4 but expect it to be more of a retelling of the series.Into The Abyss wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 17:11 Loved Blake 7 as a kid. Either way, one of my fave shows of all time so hugely looking forward to this.

Me too jim244. Got the entire series on dvd. I can remember way back in 1981 as a child, the public outcry on the news when the finale was aired, where we saw rogue Blake confronted by Avon, Tarrant & crew ending with Blake being gunned down by Avon before he could convince he all he was still on their side. The shocking part was Avon smiling over Blake's lifeless body as we saw the federation then burst in leading to further gunfire ending with credits.jim244 wrote: 01 Mar 2026, 03:31I would love it to follow on from the ending of series 4 but expect it to be more of a retelling of the series.Into The Abyss wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 17:11 Loved Blake 7 as a kid. In retrospect, it was just another great series end cliffhanger as the previous 3 had all ended with such.
If the ratings had been higher I expect we would have started series 5 with Avon explaining to the others the new "stun gun" that The Federation had invented or a similar such explanation.
But YES it was SHOCKING and Into The Abyss did you ever watch Sapphire and Steel???
Another shocking end with Dave and lovely Jo completely defeated and in limbo forever......
If another series had been ordered they would have escaped......
Re: The Return of Blakes 7
as for Avon smiling.....
Paul Darrow started doing this smiley cynical thing in series 1 and it ends so many episodes of series 4 !!!!
Either way, absolutely brilliant series and I started re watching it all a few weeks ago and whilst the special effects can be terrible and sometimes incredible, the acting by the main stars of the show is absolutely convincing and of a high level of excellence.
The actors made it work.
