Doc Who art competition

In either Countdown or its follow up, TV Action, there was a 'create a villain for Dr Who competition'. The winner would see his villain pitted against the Doc. Can anyone remember the name of the villain? What happened to the winner, did he become a 2000ad artist going on the DC/Vertigo fame? Steve

The aliens were the Ugrakks, and - off the top of my head - it was Ian Barrington who created the? I don't think he went on to become an artist but I confess not having checked!

Thanks Shaqui. I wonder if this story has ever been reprinted in Dr Who Classics or anywhere else? Probably not as royalties might be difficult. Steve

Yes, all the Pertwee 'Countdown/TV Action' strips were reprinted in 'Dr Who Classic Comics' back in the early 90s. Marvel (now Panini) bought the entire rights to reprint them, and still hold them.
