Valiant and Vulcan

Post by steelclaw »

Doe's anyone know how many issues of The Vulcan Mini Mag featured in Valiant when it merged?

What I would like to know did all the Valiant & Vulcans have the mini mag or was it just the first few?

I have a copy of Valiant and Vulcan that doesn't contain a mini mag and wonder if it should have :? Very confused

Or any other information on Valiant & Vulcan.

Count the pages. If your issue has less than 32 pages then the mini mag is missing.

I can't remember how many Valiants featured the Vulcan pull out but it wasn't many. The Vulcan reprints were swiftly concluded with newly drawn endings by John Stokes as I recall.

Arr I see thanks Lew, maybe it was the first 12 Issues that had the Vulcan pull out.

My copy is from September 18th 1976 that was quite late on and it does have 32 pages(Phew) as the first Valiant & Vulcan was April 10th 1976.

Hi SC,

Although Valiant & Vulcan ran from 10th April to 2nd Oct 1976 only the first three 10th Apr to 24th Apr contained Vulcan mini-mags. These rounded off stories, some with truncated endings at variance with their original publication, that were running in Vulcan at the time of the merger. The strips involved were Mytek the Mighty, Billiy's Boots, The Spider, The Trigan Empire, Kelly's Eye and Robot Archie. And, despite the fact that the paper kept the combined title for a further five months, once the mini-mag was dropped Valiant & Vulcan contained nothing of Vulcan in it.
